Australia. Paul Gauguin is a successful financier. In 1874, he lives in Paris with his wife Mette and their four children. But when his passion for painting becomes a mission to revolutionize art, Gauguin must unleash the savage within himself. To do so he gives up his job and comfortable lifestyle, leading his family into a downward spiral of poverty and travels to Tahiti. His voyages take him even further from his beloved family and teaches him the true meaning of the word sacrifice. What price must he pay in order to pursue his dream?

At 05:42, Marco Andreacchio plays a young street performer juggling 3 balls for tips on the steps leading into the Paris Stock Exchange, seen juggling for 7 seconds. Marco was 17 years old when this movie was made, and was the son of its director, Mario Andreacchio. This juggling, supposedly happening in 1874, included a brief Mill's Mess, 100 years before it had been invented by Steve Mills.

At 07:40, Marco Andreacchio is still juggling 3 balls, and tosses them one at a time to Paul Gauguin, played by Kiefer Sutherland, who says, "I used to love to juggle." As he starts to juggle, making 3 throws but only 1 catch, Marco's assistant picks his pocket and runs off with his wallet.
